Hello SH, Yu need to pay attention to the prompts. Depending on where you are routing the line from/to will determine how automatic the line is routed. An example - If you place a Horizontal Centrifugal Pump and a vessel as shown below. routing the line from the pump discharge to the bottom edge of the vessel you will pick the line start as at the pump discharge, and the line end on the vessel wall the results are as shown. If you need to route the pipeline from the discharge of the pump to the head of the vessel there is a third pick that sets the orientation of the line off the head of the vessel. Line start is pump discharge, line end is vessel head, THIRD SELECTION requires you to select the line orientation from the vessel head. The result is as shown below. Note that when placing a pipe run the Place Pipe Run dialog is expandable and has additional Auto-Routing settings that determine behavior of the line. Here is a video showing how the two lines were routed. /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/5927/AutoLine.mp4 I hope this helps, Tony DeRosa Bentley Plant
