Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX(SS5) Environment: Windows 7/8.1 (64 bit) Area: Schema Subarea: - Original Author: Michelle Saucier, Bentley Product Advantage Group Background To add a new category with a pull down in OpenPlant Modeler from Class Editor. Steps to Accomplish Begin by opening Class Editor, Open the Open Plant Schemas associated with the project. Next step is to open>Plant Based Object >Named Item>Device>Piping Component. When trying to add a dropdown to the Design Value of a piping component, Next step will be to copy the Component State Value from the Property named State. After copy and paste, rename the new state to desired name. For this call it (New_List). All the categories are identical to the component state value, in order to change the dropdown list will need to create a new Value Map list. Note: don't forget to Un-hide property category just created. Set to FALSE. This will allow you to view the created Category in the Modify Component category list. Next Copy and paste Component_State_Value Map to the Value_Map class. Rename this class to new class list, for this exercise save this list as Component_State_Value_Map8. Add extra properties and new items to make it different. Next go back to Piping Component New List and make sure the Lookup Value Map Pointer is showing the newly created items list. We are pointing it to the list we want to see in the drop down. After linking a desired list, Save and restart OpenPlant Modeler. After placing a component in model space double click on it to view the Modify Component Design Value items. This should have the new list and drop down menu. See Also Comments or Corrections?
