Hello Ben, The selected spec under standard preferences queries the bolts form placement. For Example if you take bellows from ABCDE spec and trying to attach flange from 1234 spec it queries the second selection spec i.e. 1234. However if you want to use desired spec to be queried, you can remove the fasteners and run connectivity checker by enabling " Show Spec grid... " option inside the connectivity checker dialog & select the desired spec under standard preferences dialog. Sometimes when distance between flanges are too far then you need to move the flanges manually to get the options. Also please check similar wiki article for your reference.
