Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler Version(s): 08.11.09.564 (SS5) | 08.11.11.XXX (SS6) Environment: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit) Area: Properties Subarea: Original Author: Harpreet Singh, Bentley Product Advantage Group Problem Description In OpenPlant Modeler, when a joint is recreated/fixed bolts and gaskets tend to inherit the properties from active pipeline in standard preferences dialog. For example, it inherits the properties like Unit, Service, Specification etc. from the active pipeline rather than the connected components. Steps to Resolve Open the PCF file of your project. Add below configuration variable in your project's PCF file. OPM_JOINT_ITEM_INHERITED_ATTRIBUTES = UNIT;SERVICE;INSULATION;INSULATION_THICKNESS;SPECIFICATION Save the PCF file and restart OPM. Adding Variable in Managed Project in ProjectWise Launch Projectwise Administrator. Go to Project node under Managed Workspace node and select your project CSB and double click it. Switch to Configuration tab and click ADD button as highlighted below. Add the variable name. Click ADD button on the same dialog and add the value as shown below. Again click ADD button to add other properties and keep the Operation Type as 'Append to a List' for every subsequent property. After adding the values it should look like as shown below Click Ok on this dialog and Apply the changes. Verify the Result Launch OPM and open a model. Create two different pipelines with different UNIT, SERVICE, SPECIFICATION. For example U1-S1-1000-mEX-OPM & U2-S2-1000-mA1-OPM. Select U1-S1-1000-mEX-OPM in preferences dialog and place pipe in and the flange assembly as shown below. Now disconnect the flanges so that bolts and gaskets are deleted. Change the pipeline in the standard preferences dialog so that active pipeline is U2-S2-1000-mA1-OPM. Now again connect the flanges together and check the properties of gasket in the element info dialog. As you can see the gasket is now inheriting the service, unit and specification from adjacent components rather than active pipeline. Comments or Corrections? Bentley's Product Advantage Group requests that you please confine any comments you have on this Wiki entry to this "Comments or Corrections?" section. THANK YOU!
