Background In OpenPlant Orthographic Manager, we can insert/define structural column grid definition that will reflect in orthographic output drawing. This wiki article explains how to insert/define structural column grid definition in output drawing as well as to dimension equipment arrangement w.r.t inserted/defined structural column grid in OpenPlant Orthographic Manager. Steps to Accomplish Launch OpenPlant Orthographic Manager & select any project. Go to Drawing Generation tab and select Structural Column Grid tool as shown below. Note: To define structural column grid points user needs to enter the location points as per equipment arrangements. Selecting Structural Column Grid tool will pop-up window as shown below. Click on " + " symbol and add start points & end points to enter points & click on Save. Saving this will automatically create a Grid.mdb in Settings folder of project as shown below. From Create View, create your desired view & add respective referenced model files of different disciplines as shown below. As far, we have not added our created Grid.MDB file. To add this, click on Add a reference Model. From Add Reference dialog, click on All & select Grid Area as shown below. Select your defined Grid Area name AA, click OK as shown below Navigate to Settings tab, select Settings > Outside > View Annotations & check Use Grid Line for Equipment option as shown below. Close Project Settings dialog, switch to Drawing Generation tab. Define 3D Clipping Area & View Output Position for the referenced model files & generate drawing to verify the result as shown below.
