Applies To Product(s): AutoPLANT Modeler Version(s) 08.11.XX.XXX Environment: Windows 7(32 bit & 64 bit)/8.1/10(64 bit) Area: Specification Generator Subarea: Catalog Editor Original Author Swapnil Joshi, Bentley Product Advantage Group To increase the field size of a property in spec which should get reflected in the properties of the AutoPLANT Modeler. Problem Desciption In AutoPLANT Modeler the database has a field size defined for every property which is derived from spec data. When the properties are viewed in the AutoPLANT Modeler the property displays a value which is lesser or equal to its field size defined. By using these settings, user will be able to modify the field size. Steps to Accomplish Launch Specification Generator. Open an existing spec. Once the spec has been open go to Catalog>Catalog Editor. Open the Catalog from which the spec is created. Eg. Ansi-Asme. In the Catalog Editor Edit > Edit Database schema. In the below dialog, select the desired Tables, Field and click on the Edit Field. This allows to change the Field Size. Set the field size to required length. Update the entries manually in the Catalog, Go to Catalog > Build Catalog . Close the catalog editor. Specgen prompt to update the spec click on Yes . Rebuild the specs and inspect if the new entries are present in the specs. Open the ProjData.mdb (ProjData.adb for SQL database) and open the PIPING table in the Design View. When the table is open in the Design View, select the field which is to be edited and change the Field size to the required length. Place the component in the AutoPLANT Modeler. Double click on the component and view the properties. The changes should get reflected here. See Also Comments or Corrections?
