Forum Post: RE: Custom Equipment from Cell, inserts at a much larger scale.

So I think I have worked it out (with some help at my work). There appears to be a bug in the system. Some background: these cells were initially modeled in an OpenPlant file, then the models were copied into a cell file. The reason we needed to do that was because we needed to do equipment drawings of the equipment, but the layout was far from frozen, so we didn't want to keep chasing the equipment down to correct drawings. If we use the cell to create the drawing the item doesn't move. The idea going forward was to keep updating the cells then inserting them into the overall model. That is where we started to have problems... So the bug: it appears that when you reference an OpenPlant model into a cell file to copy the equipment in, its properties change, in a very subtle way. See above picture for the pre-copied model geometry. See below picture to see what happens after the item is copied. It is important to note that both the reference file and the cell file have the same units, and the active scale is 1. It is also important to note that the graphics doesn't physically change at all. I cannot see any reason as to why this is happening. You also cannot change the XYZ scale because the graphics blow up (10x size). The nozzles on the item do not however (so exactly what is happening once we edit the cell in attachment). You cannot drop the item in the cell and recreated without the object blowing up either... I am not sure why it is working for you, can you check to see what object scale is on the equipment?
