Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX & Higher Environment: Windows 7/8/10 (64 bit) Area: Properties Subarea: Original Author: Harpreet Singh, Bentley Product Advantage Group Problem Description In OpenPlant Modeler, Spec validation tool updates existing components in model automatically if spec has been updated for any field. But bolts and gaskets are left behind since these are not part of pipeline manager therefore user has to update them manually. In this article we will discuss the easier way to update bolts and gaskets in bulk. Steps to Resolve Method 1 Open the model where you wish to update bolts and gaskets. Load item browser from toolbar or File>Item Browser. By default, Item browser has server tree hierarchy enabled which will show only Root Object nodes (Unit, Service) For easy navigation you can disable the server tree hierarchy by setting below variable in PCF file. OPM_OPMS_SETTING_DISABLE_SERVER_TREE_HIERARCHY = 1 Now, item browser will have separate node for each component class as shown below: Select bolts in item browser and click Show Details button as shown below. In show details dialog, you can use ‘Show Filter’ option to filter the components based on EC_CLASS_NAME, NOMINAL_DIAMETER, Specification etc. Filter based on Nominal Diameter: Let’s update DESCRIPTION of all the bolts for 100mm. Select all rows in DESCRIPTION column and Edit. In the ‘Edit Property Value’ dialog, make changes to the description in text box. Notice the icon appears for all the unsaved rows. Right click and select SAVE button which will save the changes. Save the changes and verify by selecting any bolt in the model. Method 2 Open the model. Load Item Browser and click Search button as highlighted below. Query the bolts or gaskets to be updated. Let’s query the gaskets in this example. Select the gaskets under query node and open show details window. In show details window select DESCRIPTION fields and select EDIT. Modify the Description as required and save the changes. Check description of any gasket in element information. Comments or Corrections? Bentley's Product Advantage Group requests that you please confine any comments you have on this Wiki entry to this "Comments or Corrections?" section. THANK YOU!
