Hi Richard, Like you noticed the $ is interpreted as a new line character when the cell used has only a single text element in it. In that case the text element serves as a template and is copied as many times as needed (downward). The border is scaled to the text(s)only when the border is a shape type element or a closed rectangular line string. A typical standard NOTE cell with the input text1$text2$test3 would result in something like shown below A little know feature is that you can also create a cell for the note with multiple text items. In that case the $ is used to distribute the input text over the text elements. For example the below cell definition (left picture) has 3 text elements in three different colors, fonts and font sizes. When used with the same note text you would get the result as shown in the right picture The text is however still in a single individual box tscaled around the text. When you have an idea of the length of text to expect and the number of lines you could also use a more static type cell. Two examples are shown below.
