Applies To Product(s): AutoPLANT Piping Version(s): 08.11.06.30, 08.09.03.30 Environment: N/A Area: N/A Subarea: N/A Original Author: Richard DeLong, Bentley Technical Support Group Overview Sometimes, a user may want to export a single line in a drawing from one project to another without having the import the whole drawing. The simplest way to do this would be to use the Import/Export PXF tools. Below are the steps in doing this. Steps to export a line to a PXF file Begin by loading the model in AutoPLANT Load the Import/Export tool from the AutoPLANT 3D pull down menu This will load the Import/Export pull down menu Select the Plant Exchange (PXF)>Export This will then bring up the AutoPLANT Selections Dialog, using the Project tab, change the pull down to LineNumber and check the desired line number, like example below Next, Export Progress will display the progress and it will also tell were the file is located Now a PXF file should be created and named after the drawing file. Next, the file will need to be imported into a new or existing model. Importing the PXF file into a new/existing model The PXF file can be imported into any model, new or existing. These steps go over importing the PXF file, which contains the line number that was just exported in the previous section. Load the new model into AutoPLANT Load the Import/Export module, see the previous section for how to do this Use the Import command by going to Import/Export>Plant Exchange (PXF)>Import This will load the Select Files Select the file and hit Open Once selected, the Import Progress dialog will appear and the line will begin to be imported into the model Once done, Zoom around the model and one should see the imported pipe line Conclusion One should now know how to move lines from one model to another. This can also be used to copy a line from a model in one project to a model in another project.
