Problem Description In OpenPlant Specification generator, few specs were unable to open and throws an error ‘Unable to find Catalog’. For instance, while opening a default catalog mcablet for a metric project, in OpenPlant Specification generator, it prompts an error. ‘Unable to find catalog:%NETWORK_ROOT%\Catalogs\METRIC\Cablet.mdb, Do you want to browse for catalog?” However to avoid similar situation, user can create a temporary catalog containing same field to allow the spec to open. Steps to Resolve Launch Open Plant Specification Generator & select project unit. Select File à Open Exchange Spec to display the open spec dialog as shown below. After you select a spec to open, the 'Save as' dialog shown prompts you to define a name and location for the catalog to be created from the spec. Enter a name for the catalog and navigate to the directory where you want to store the catalog. Note- By default, Specgen wants to put the catalog in the same directory as the spec, but you may want to create a catalog directory for the current project. The following message displays alerting you the spec is going to be converted to a catalog. Click OK to display the following alert.
