Forum Post: RE: OPIM with AutoPLANT vs. Purchasing Intergraph Isogen

I have updated AutoPLANT to newer Versions with OPIM three times so far. In 2 cases I had to ensure that OPIM output is the same as what it was with Isogen (in one case they had 5 running projects at the time of update! (that was early/mid 2015) I also experienced some of the issues as mentioned by Matt but could resolve most of them. (But understand Matt's frustration as I went through that myself...) A "bigger" issue at the time was the use of white space. The Iso's produced by Isogen were far better in that regard. OPIM development has been working on that and it is much better now. Another problem at the time was that the exported Iso was sort of 3D (!!??!!) - however that seems fixed now. @Ray; happy to walk over to your office to show some of the features. Please note that for T1B they have been using quite an old OPIM version... BTW: I have configured both Isogen and OPIM. One of the three clients I mentioned above requested a lot of custom symbols. Honestly, not so easy task with Isogen... That was certainly better with OPIM as I could do that with proper CAD functionality... (I did train AutoPLANT/AutoCAD users on OPIM-Admin and me as being an "old" ACAD user myself I feel the pain... ;-) - other features that were well received: User Labeling, DBQuery, Reports (easy to create all sort of reports and assign fields etc.) - really didn't miss the time when I had to sort things out in opcfhdr.ebs with AP/Isogen...
